Norris Tops Piastri in Brazilian Practice
The British driver has beaten Oscar Piastri at each of the previous five race weekends.
Lando Norris just pipped team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri for the quickest lap in the closing stages of the practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the title advantage from Piastri by just one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, outpaced the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the leading McLaren throughout the hour before the sprint shootout scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the other racer in the points battle, trailing with a 36-point deficit Norris, finished in 17th position as his Red Bull team ran a different programme.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the sole competitor to go off, albeit lightly, when he spun at corner four during the early running.
Tsunoda spun out over the exit kerbs before rotating through the gravel trap, and was fortunate to avoid just a minor contact of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also lost it, at the conclusion of the session, rotating twice through the quick descending Mergulho turn leading to the final bend on to the start-finish straight.
Hamilton finished practice in 19th, just behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren pair were significantly quicker of the remaining drivers, with the German's car in third, 0.619secs slower than the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto fifth from Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
